In April, Cortney got a new bike. It’s beautiful. Nothing was wrong with the yellow Dutch-style cruiser she had (aka “Sunshine). It was just that she’d outgrown it. That type of bike is built for riding to the tap house or to the local park, not 30-plus-mile ramblers across the valley.
There’s an iconic scene in Forrest Gump where young Forrest (in leg braces) is being chased by a bunch of bullies. As he begins to run—in slow-mo, of course—his braces break apart and he leaves them in the dust. [Cue up the triumphant music.]
That’s Cort. Not that she was being chased by a bunch of punks or anything. It’s just the Dutch cruiser got her up and going—and now she can ride like the wind blows. She’s ready for new adventures, and her Salsa can take her there. It’s going to be awesome!
